Overview

Travel/contract RN position in Overland Park, Kansas
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks
First-time travelers accepted

Clinical Setting

Float pool position with no home unit
Floats among Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, with possible floating to other metro campuses as needed
Patient ratio: 1:5
Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in Kansas
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
1 year of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Pending license not accepted
Must live at least 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS

Scheduling and Availability

8 weekend shifts in each 6-week schedule period
No block scheduling
No on-call requirement
No more than 7 days of requested time off

Key Clinical Skills and Experience

MS/Tele, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown experience
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Telemetry monitoring on the unit
Pre/post cardiac cath experience
Experience with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID care

Additional Role Details

Special requirements include virtual nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell
