Job Opportunity: Pediatric ER Registered Nurse
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Nights
- Hours: 36 hours per week (can approve up to 40 hours for time off)
- License: Can submit with Virginia license pending
- Specialty: Pediatric ER Registered Nurse
- Required Experience:
- Minimum 4 years nursing experience
- At least 1 year experience at Level 1 or 2 years at Level 2
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Education verification (BSN preferred; ASN required if no BSN)
- State license primary source verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
- Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (no declinations/exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or Qgold acceptable)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no declinations/exemptions)
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer positive or appropriate follow-up testing
- Varicella vaccination or titer (declination requires documentation)
- Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions/declinations accepted)
- Drug testing: 10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl, within 2 months of start and annually updated
- Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units (informational for Pediatric ER)
Compliance & Facility Specifics
- Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
- Various facility-specific forms and screenings must be completed prior to start
- Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if needed
- Background checks and abuse registry searches required for certain units (e.g., Behavioral Health, Unit 5 East)
