Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract

- Schedule: Every other weekend; float as needed
- Contract Options: 36 or 48 hour shifts available; block scheduling may be accommodated (ask for details)
- Illinois nursing license required (must have license in hand)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in specialty required
- First-time travelers are accepted only if they have 5+ years of nursing experience
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
Certifications Required
- ACLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- BLS (preferably AHA or American Red Cross)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required and must be updated annually)
Preferred (Not Required) Certifications
- PALS (for ER, PICU, PEDI, PACU)
- NRP (for Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum, NICU, Nursery)
- CHEMO (strongly preferred for Oncology)
- TNCC (strongly preferred for ER)
Competencies and Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% or meet/exceed Angoff score)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all travelers)
- Unit Specific Competency Exam
- Core Parts I, II, III (must be updated annually)
- OSHA Mandatory Training (must be updated annually)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 30 days of start, stating traveler is in good health and cleared to work without restrictions
- N95 Fit Test within 12 months of start (specific mask models listed)
- Tdap vaccination within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (specific testing options detailed)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity by titer or vaccination or declination as per birth year and facility policy
- Hepatitis B: Proof of immunity by titer, vaccination series, or declination
- Varicella: Proof of immunity by titer, vaccination, history of chickenpox, or declination
- Drug Testing: 10 panel drug screen within 30 days of start, repeated annually (no rapid results accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
- COVID-19 Vaccination proof required prior to start (dose 1 and fully vaccinated if applicable)
Background and Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start including SSN trace, county searches, national criminal and sex offender checks, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required annually and within 30 days of start
- Education verification accepted via diploma or transcripts
- Multiple facility-specific documents and forms must be completed prior to start (e.g., emergency contact, employee health info, confidentiality agreements, code of conduct, safety info, parking tag request)
- Photo for badge required (JPEG format, headshot from shoulders up)
References and Work History
- At least 2 recent professional references required
- Verification of last 3 years of work history required
