Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech
Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 32 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Maternal Fetal Medicine Ultrasound Technologist with ability to perform GYN scans (no breast experience required).
- Patient Load: Up to 8 patients per day (4 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon). Twin pregnancies count as two scans.
- Facility Type: Large Level 1 Trauma Center with 579 beds and 2 sites on campus.
- Weekend shifts: As needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Ultrasound Technologist experience, including recent experience within the last year.
- Experience in Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonography.
- Experience working in a large teaching hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA certified
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA certified
- National Tech Certification verification within 30 days of assignment start
Orientation & Scheduling
- Orientation sessions held bi-weekly on Mondays.
- No block scheduling allowed.
- Work schedule may include Monday through Sunday shifts.
Additional Requirements & Information
- Complete and detailed work history required, including bed count, EMR, and facility type.
- All employment gaps over 30 days must be explained.
- COVID and flu vaccination declinations accepted with proper documentation.
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle transportation strongly recommended (public transportation not accessible).
- Must complete EPIC and Cornerstone training modules prior to start.
- Various background checks, education verifications, and health screenings required, including:
- Background check covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Physical exam within 12 months.
- N95 fit test.
- Immunizations: Tdap, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or declination), Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption.
- TB testing and questionnaire.
- Drug testing (for NY placements).
- Required to complete facility-specific forms such as abuse registry consent, emergency contact, and vaccination attestations.
