Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Pennsylvania (Lebanon)

Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
  • Holidays: Expected to work 1 of 2 upcoming holidays and surrounding days (e.g., Memorial Day or July 4th)
  • Floating: Will float to all medical-surgical floors and potentially rehab
  • Patient Population: May care for COVID-19 patients
  • Facility Environment: Tobacco and fragrance free

Schedule Requirements

  • Night shift 3x12 hours (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekends as needed, likely every other weekend
  • Holidays coverage as noted above

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Pennsylvania
  • ACLS & BLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted)
  • EPIC experience required

Additional Requirements

  • Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
  • No call requirements
  • Must be able to float to multiple units including medical-surgical and rehab

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start, must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)
  • FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
  • Child Abuse History Clearance (PA Childline) required within 5 years of start; may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
  • Employment application and most recent resume required
  • Two professional references required within 3 years of start
  • Education verification of highest level required
  • Skills checklist required annually
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination form)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation; declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination accepted
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (requirement for agency only, not facility)

Competency and Testing Requirements

  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health; remediation and second attempt process in place if needed
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Clear, professional passport-style photo for badge
  • Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:
    • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
    • I9 Attestation and Documentation Attestation (completed by agency)
    • Hepatitis B declination form (if applicable)
    • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration (if applicable)
  • Completion of online Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start (must be done on PC/laptop, not mobile devices)
  • New hire orientation required by end of first day

This position requires a professional nurse with solid clinical experience, certifications, and the ability to work night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific documentation is mandatory. Floating to multiple units and caring for COVID patients may be required.
