Job Opportunity: Clinical Lab Scientist

Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, variable days
Start Times: 6 AM, 7 AM, 8 AM (varies)
Schedule: Rotating holidays and weekends; weekends may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
Start Date: ASAP
On-call: No
Floating: No

Required Experience & Skills

Specialty: Laboratory
Minimum Experience: 2 years (hard stop)
Blood Bank Experience: Required (hard stop)
EPIC Experience: Required (hard stop)
First-time Travelers: Accepted if they meet the 2 years of experience requirement

Required Certifications & Licenses

License: Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California required
Preferred Certification: Clinical Immunohematology Science (preferred)
Other Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification (if applicable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Pediatric Society (if applicable)
- Other certifications as required by clinical track or facility

Job Requirements

Valid Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in California
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist, including experience within the last year
Blood bank experience required
Experience with EPIC system

Local Radius: 50 miles
Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
Scheduling Requests: Requests due to outside employment will not be considered
