Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Acute Care Hospital
Location

Work Schedule
- Day shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) with 1-hour lunch
- Every 3rd weekend required
- 40 hours per week (5 days x 8 hours)
Job Description
- Provide speech therapy services focused on inpatient adult acute care
- Evaluate and develop plans of care for adult patients with speech, swallow, language, and cognitive impairments
- Treat acute care adult patients, particularly related to swallowing and language/cognitive status
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (front and back copies)
- Background check covering the last 7 years, including:
- Social Security address check (last 15 years)
- National criminal search
- Sex offender search
- Education verification
- International searches if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Employment application with at least 15 years of work history including locations and gaps
- Two professional references (one must be from most recent experience)
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Physical exam within 12 months confirming clearance to work without restrictions
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (annual renewal required for travel)
- Immunization and health requirements:
- Tdap vaccine or declination within 10 years (Td not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- TB questionnaire for all candidates
- Immunity or vaccination records for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and Hepatitis C
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (mask required if declining)
- Fit mask test with 3M Aura 1870+ N95 mask (universal size) required; PAPR training available onsite if fit test fails
- Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgment forms prior to start
- Completion of required training modules via facility LMS platform before start date
- Photo for badge: passport-style on plain blue background, no facial obstructions or visible tattoos, PNG format, submitted within 72 hours of signing
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, required for all clinical specialties
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, required for certain units (verify if applicable)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter)

Cath lab is super traveler friendly, easygoing docs, nice coworkers, super easy to get to the facility from surrounding areas, great about scheduling what you needed off, LOTS of outdoor activities to do within an hour of here! Safe gated parking area (called the Cage), hospital is clean and welcoming, staff usually pretty great in all areas I went.
Cons
DO NOT STAY IN POMONA, stay in surrounding areas (San Dimas, La Verne, Covina, Glendora, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Claremont are all good).
