Job Summary
- Position: Pediatric Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:45 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Facility Type: Acute Care, Magnet recognized, Level I Trauma, NICU Level III/IV
- High acuity operating room environment
- Pediatric experience required
- Call requirements:
- Short call up to 3 times every 6 weeks
- Up to 4 off shifts every 6 weeks
- Up to 1 weekend shift and 1 weekend call every 6 weeks
- Holiday shift and call coverage as needed
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid RN license for Massachusetts
- Pediatric nursing experience with proficiency in operating room procedures
- Advanced certifications as applicable to pediatric OR nursing:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required if assignment extends beyond 13 weeks or for certain pediatric intensive care units
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required for pediatric clinical positions
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - preferred for NICU assignments
- Proof of professional certification verification within 30 days prior to start
- Skills checklist specific to the unit within one year prior to start
Experience Requirements
- Pediatric nursing experience required (minimum years not explicitly stated, but pediatric experience is emphasized)

Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, cleared to work with no restrictions
- Immunizations and testing required prior to start:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap must be given after age 11)
- Negative TB test (T-Spot or QuantiFERON within 90 days prior to start or 2-step TB skin test)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer
- Hepatitis B - series completion or declination form
- Varicella - proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved exemption (required during flu season, 8/01 – 3/31)
- COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption (facility-specific requirements apply)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within last 12 months (not required for Advanced Practice Nurses)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance required for all travelers; facility-specific fit testing completed onsite
Background and Compliance
- 10-year criminal background check required within 6 months prior to start, including aliases and multiple federal/state databases
- Massachusetts CORI release required within 60 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance required within 6 months of start
- EEC Background Check Consent Form required for fingerprinting and clearance
- Two professional references from two separate employers within the last 3 places of employment
- Employment application with 10-year work history; gaps over 30 days require explanation

- Scrub color: OR provided; other units any solid color
- Parking: Discounted day passes with shuttle service; free parking for night shifts
- Onboarding packet to be completed approximately 2 weeks prior to start
- Unit managers will monitor compliance with required documentation and forms during assignment
