Home Health Registered Nurse – Florida, New Port Richey

Job Type

• Travel/Contract assignment
• Contract length: 20 weeks

Work Schedule

• Day shift, typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5 days a week, 40 hours/week)
• Shift hours may vary based on HomeCare office needs, including options such as:

  • Mon-Fri 8 AM to 5 PM
  • Mon-Fri 9 AM to 6 PM
  • Thurs-Mon or Fri-Tues shifts
  • Alternating weekend shifts
• Visits and hours are self-scheduled based on office needs
• 6-8 skilled home visits per day

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Skilled home care nursing (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Commercial insurance)
• Care for patients with general medical diagnoses and high-risk conditions such as:

  • Heart failure (HF)
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Myocardial infarction (MI)
  • Pneumonia
  • Stroke
• Post-operative care
• Perform cardiopulmonary assessments, wound care (including wound vac and ABI compression dressings), and Pleurx/Aseptdrain care
• Foley catheter care and changes
• Staple and suture removal
• Use of glucometer and pro-time machine
• Administer SQ/IM injections
• Lab draw venipuncture
• IV skills including PICC line or Midline care and dressing changes
• SQ port access and deaccess
• Documentation using electronic systems (laptop, MiFi, portable printers)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Home Health nursing experience within the last year
• Experience in Home Care and Home Health settings
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Proficient IV skills
• Experience with OASIS documentation and processes
