Travel Physical Therapist

Location: Cathedral City, California
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide physical therapy services to improve patient mobility, function, and strength in an outpatient rehabilitation clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients through rehabilitation programs.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides in patient care.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure quality care.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking safety, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Participate in business marketing and referral processes as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA policies and protect patient privacy in compliance with federal and state laws.
• Comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform physical tasks including walking, standing, sitting, bending, and moving throughout the workday.

Work Environment

• Outpatient physical therapy clinic.
• Combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour shifts.
• Physically active role requiring lifting and patient assistance.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in California
• Degree in Physical Therapy
• Minimum of 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

• Continuing education courses in physical therapy.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift over 50 pounds.
• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, and moving during shifts.
• Constant alertness to patient safety.

Travel Requirements

• No travel expected for this position.
