Radiology Technologist – Contract Position
Location: Big Sky, Montana
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Thursday to Sunday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
Provide outpatient radiology services including X-rays and fluoroscopic procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment. Perform diagnostic imaging exams and related techniques under the direction of licensed practitioners.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform radiographic exams as requested by healthcare providers
- Assist with fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Conduct ultrasound-guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis alongside radiology providers
- Support radiology nursing during fluoroscopically guided PICC placements
- Perform c-arm fluoroscopy exams in the operating room as requested by surgeons
- Complete documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
- Manage distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures
- Retrieve written orders and related health information
- Participate in quality indicator implementation and improvement
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Montana
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Schedule & Attendance
- Regular and sustained attendance required
- May require working beyond 40 hours per week, including weekends and after-hours
- On-call duties may be necessary
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Sit, stand, and walk repeatedly for extended periods
- Occasionally climb ladders, stairs, or ramps
- Frequently twist, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach above shoulder level
- Use fine finger movements continuously (e.g., typing, picking)
- Push and pull with upper extremities repeatedly
- Maintain close visual acuity and cognitive focus continuously
Work Environment & Exposures
- Continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, medications, and infectious diseases
- May encounter emotionally challenging situations involving distressed patients or families
Additional Information
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles away from the facility to be considered
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
