Overview

• 2 openings
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Location: Westminster, Colorado
• Unit: ER/ED
• Level 3 Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• 20 beds and 2 trauma bays
• Average volume: 150 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 based on acuity
• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• Navy Blue scrubs
• Floating within the region/zone’s ERs; travelers are expected to float throughout the full 60-mile zone
• Unit orientation: 2-3 days
• Week of orientation must be completed in state

Required Qualifications

• CO license
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• TNCC
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
• Must be able to perform Point of Care lab testing
• Must be able to float to other facilities in Zone 3

Unit Details

• ER has no separate psych/seclusion rooms
• ER holds are intermixed within the ER
• RT is available 24/7 and completes breathing treatments and ABGs
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• Techs support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
