Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg/Telemetry Unit
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Call Requirements: No call required
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 4 weekend shifts per schedule
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Neuro medical/surgical
- Number of Beds: 30
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 CNC, 3 RNs, 3 LVNs, 3 PCTs, 1 UC
- Night Shift: 1 CNC, 3 RNs, 3 LVNs, 3 PCTs
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Equipment: Welch Allyn Vital Sign monitors, Computers on Wheels (COWs), Hoyer lift, PCA pumps, CareView Virtual Sitter, Telepsych, Teleneuro
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Registered Nurse License
- Certifications: BLS required; IV Certification for LVNs required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry specialty
- Skills:
- Must have BLS and IV Certification (for LVNs)
- NIH Stroke Scale knowledge preferred
- ACLS certification is a plus

- EEGs
- Gastric decompression
- Wound care
