Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiology and Intermediate Care (IMC) experience for a night shift position in a 24-bed unit. The role involves caring for adult to geriatric patients with cardiac and intermediate care needs, including patients with STEMI, Non-STEMI, stroke, post-catheterization, and alcohol-related conditions.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekly hours: 36 to 48 hours (3 or 4 twelve-hour shifts)
- Weekend hours vary
- No call requirements
- Floating required to other units as needed (PCU, Medical, Surgical, Nephrology)
Patient Ratios
- IMC patients: 1 RN to 3-5 patients depending on shift
- Medical/Surgical patients: 1 RN to 5-6 patients
Required Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intermediate Care (IMC), or Cardiology within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with cardiac monitoring equipment (Telemetry, T-1), IV pumps, and crash carts
- Familiarity with Cerner EHR system
Preferred Experience
- Strong background in IMC and cardiac care
- Experience managing patients with STEMI, Non-STEMI, stroke, and post-catheterization care
Additional Information
- Floating to other units is expected based on unit needs
- Patient population ranges from adult to geriatric
- Associate degree in nursing or higher required

Pros
Unit is comprised of many travelers. Core staff and travelers have all been fantastic! The unit is set up quite well to manage the surges of patients. It is the only main hospital around so it can definitely provide good experience. Most of the providers I've encountered over the last couple months actually listen to the nurses and are easy to work with.
Cons
It is definitely busy before the size of the town. I can't say I have any other cons.
