Job Description
Provide nursing care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies. Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe delivery of care. Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education. Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience. Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- STABLE certification
- Experience with fetal monitoring
