Contract length: 26 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Respiratory Therapy (RRT)
Shift: Night shift primarily (7 PM - 7:30 AM) and day shift (7 AM - 7:30 PM)
Weekly hours: 48 hours guaranteed
Weekend hours: 36 hours (unless otherwise noted)
Call requirement: Yes, 2 hours for the oncoming shift
Number of open positions: Approximately 30 due to retirements and unit expansions
Units covered: Surgical ICU (3rd unit opening), Intermediate Care (IMC), NICU/PICU, Emergency Department, adult acute and critical care
Float requirements: Must float as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute and critical care

Patient Care & Environment

Facility type: Tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma center
Patient ratios: Acute care 1:25, Critical care 1:8
Number of beds: Varies daily, facility-wide coverage with a team of 14-16 RRTs
Equipment used: Drager V500 and VN500 ventilators, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30, V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, Vapotherm
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Maine
Registered Respiratory Therapist with a minimum of 3 years of experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Experience in tertiary care, teaching hospital settings
Experience in Level 1 trauma center environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic care preferred
Flexible, team-oriented with strong communication skills
