Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor triage experience
- OR circulator experience (C-section, tubal ligation, D&C, vaginal repair)
- Newborn resuscitation experience (attending delivery for low-risk newborns)
- LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum experience
- OR Circulate experience
Unit Experience Needed
- Labor triage experience
- OR circulator experience
- Newborn resuscitation experience
Unit Details
- Labor and delivery / LDRP unit
- 7 beds
- Typical staffing includes 2 RNs and 1 OB surgical tech on both day and night shifts
- Uses acuity-based staffing ratios
- Level 2 NICU support for infants greater than 32 weeks gestation and greater than 1500 g
Common Procedures
- Induction of labor
- Vaginal delivery
- C-sections
- Tubal ligation
- Antepartum care
- D&C
- Vaginal repair
- NST
- IUFD management
- Steroid injections
- External cephalic version
Preferred Experience
- IUPC/FSE placement
- Assistance with JADA, COOKS, and BAKRI placement
Additional Notes
- May float as a patient care tech when census is low
- Scrubs are provided
- Call is not required, but may be available as needed
