Overview

Travel RN position in Kansas City, Missouri
48 hours per week guaranteed preferred
Start date: 12/14
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Psychiatric (1 year of experience)
Psychiatric experience within the last year
BLS
CPI
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Unit Details

Behavioral health unit with adolescent, adult, and senior patient populations
Coverage includes three 12-hour shifts per day, seven days a week, including weekends
Floating is based on greatest need

Key Responsibilities

Assess patients’ mental health status, including psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems
Develop individualized care plans for patients with mental health and behavioral needs
Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects

Skills

Therapeutic communication
Knowledge of psychotropic medications
Ability to recognize and respond to behavioral crises
