  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
  • No on-call required

Job Summary

  • Provide professional nursing care to a designated group of patients using the nursing process.
  • Perform initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify plans of care based on patient and family needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
  • Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing hazards.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Participate in departmental competencies and attend most staff meetings.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform all unit-specific duties within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs according to policy.
  • Identify changes in patient status and respond appropriately.
  • Maintain documentation standards as demonstrated by passing quarterly chart audits.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Minimum 1 year of Direct Observation Unit (DOU) experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
