CT Technologist - Contract

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 9 weeks
Shift: Overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (Saturday into Sunday and Sunday into Monday)
Hours: 16 hours per week (8 hours per shift)

Job Description

• Perform CT procedures using appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic images.
• Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all CT equipment before patient studies.
• Inject patients with radioactive material following physician orders and prescribed protocols.
• Maintain department documentation including logs, manuals, charge documents, and report equipment issues to comply with regulatory standards.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests adhering to radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.
• Manage patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
• Receive and verify radiopharmaceutical deliveries and activity levels before administration.
• Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Additional Information

• This position requires working overnight weekend shifts.
• Emphasis on compliance with radiation safety and quality assurance protocols.
