Registered Nurse - Nephrology

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Under general supervision, provides nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex. Responsibilities include:

Managing an assigned group of patients
Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments
Assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures
Monitoring physiological data and intervening as needed
Administering medications and managing intravenous infusions and blood products
Delivering competent patient care
Communicating care plans with patients and families
Making referrals for patient care needs
Delegating tasks to support staff

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Oklahoma
Minimum 1 year of nephrology nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Med/Surg nursing experience
Stepdown nursing experience
Familiarity with central line care and management
Familiarity with Foley catheter care and management
Familiarity with end-of-life care and management
Knowledge of proper dialysis site care, including avoiding use of HD catheters or accessing fistulas for blood draws
