Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Location

• Bowling Green, Kentucky

Schedule

• Night shift
• 3x12 hours
• 19:00 to 07:00

Assignment Details

• Travel/contract role
• 13-week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Unit: Neuro ICU
• May float to stepdown with a 1:4 ratio
• 65-mile radius restriction
• Local travelers are accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Neuro ICU (9 months of experience)
• Neuro ICU experience within the last year
• 9 months or more of total travel experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• CRRT experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a certified stroke center critical care unit
• Familiarity with current stroke guidelines and performance measures for acute ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes

Clinical Competencies

• Stroke signs/symptoms competency, including BE-FAST
• Bedside dysphagia screening competency
• IV-tPA administration and post-tPA monitoring competency

Charting

• Meditech experience preferred, not required

Compliance / Onboarding

• Valid driver’s license, state ID, or passport required
• Background check required before start
• 2 clinical references required
• 7-year work history required
• Physical exam within 1 year
• Fit test within 1 year
• Negative 13-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• Flu documentation required before clearance for candidates starting on or after 9/15
• COVID-19 vaccination, exemption, or declination required for reporting purposes
• Kentucky vulnerable adult maltreatment registry search required
