Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LTAC ICU night shift position in Kentucky, requiring 2+ years of LTACH experience and active KY or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) ICU setting
• Patient population includes complex medical cases spanning MS, MS/Tele, PCU, and ICU-level acuity
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: rotating 3x12 and 4x12 hours per week (84 hours per two-week pay period), 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Meditech EMR (preferred)

Requirements

• Active KY state or compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current certifications required: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of LTACH experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Must be willing and able to work the rotating 36/48-hour bi-weekly schedule — inability to accept this schedule may result in cancellation
• Driver's license with address matching permanent residence required
• 2 professional references required: 1 Charge Nurse or higher and 1 supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Clinical skills include management of vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, continuous IV sedation, insulin drips, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, mechanical ventilation (including weaning), tracheostomy care, and complex wound care
• Neurological care experience includes CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and stroke scale assessment
• Cardiovascular monitoring responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, and CHF management
• GI and renal care includes NG tube management, tube feedings, ostomy care, Foley catheter insertion, and CBI
• Must work at least one major or minor holiday per assignment
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered; RTO must be declared upfront and no changes will be accepted after submission
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers who have worked within the ARH system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
• Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
• Any license hits or background check issues must be disclosed upfront
