ER RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

• Specialty: Emergency Room Registered Nurse
• Location: Ventura, California
• Shift: Day shift, 2x12 hours
• Hours per week: 24
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Schedule note: Must be available to work weekends
• Floating: Must be willing to float to Santa Paula Hospital and Ventura County Medical Center
• Charting familiarity: Cerner preferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (1.5 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or ENPC
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• NIHSS
• Current CPI, MAB, or AVADE certification with hands-on component
• Must pass the Advanced EKG exam during compliance

References

• At least one supervisor reference from the unit applied to
• References must be updated within the last year and from work within the last 2 years
• Peer references are not accepted

Compliance and Onboarding

• Must complete general orientation, Cerner training, and one on-unit orientation shift before scheduling
• Must review and complete required RN policies, competency validation, ECG study materials, handbook, confidentiality, orientation attestation, welcome packet, TB questionnaire, and mandatory compliance training
• Must complete annual age-specific competency and skills checklist
• Must complete required background, exclusion, and state-specific screening items before start

Health Requirements

• COVID vaccination required
• Flu vaccination required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray required
• Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity/documentation required
• 10-panel drug screen required
• Fit mask testing required

• Returning clinicians require facility approval
• Scrubs: any solid color, no patterns
