Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Job Summary
- Assist physicians during pediatric cardiac catheterization procedures using complex radiologic imaging equipment including fluoroscopy and ultrasonography.
- Operate imaging equipment for both adult and congenital cases within the Cardiac Cath Lab suite.
- Cross-train in other service areas such as Electrophysiology (EP) and Hybrid OR.
- Prepare patients and supplies under sterile conditions; scrub in and assist during procedures.
- Use fine motor skills for tasks such as threading stents and balloons on wires.
- Obtain x-rays accurately while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Operate automatic injectors and select appropriate contrast agents under physician direction.
- Provide patient care during examinations in collaboration with other staff.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, report malfunctions, and coordinate equipment borrowing.
- Work independently while on-call with physicians and nurses.
- Weekend work required only when taking call.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Oregon
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification

- First-time travel assignments accepted.

- Maximum 1-2 week restrictions on return to office (RTO).
- Must present a valid government-issued photo ID on the first day.
- Two (2) manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required (with some flexibility if one reference cannot be obtained).
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position.
- Dosimetry (radiation) badge required prior to start.
Compliance & Screening Requirements
- Background check within 6 months of start, including education and work history verification, international searches if applicable, and national sex offender search.
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start.
- Physical exam not required unless specified for other roles.
- Fit mask testing required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent).
- Immunizations and titers required or signed declinations for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months required, plus TB questionnaire.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination required annually.
Facility & Orientation Notes
- Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital.
- Charting system: EPIC.
- Scrubs provided for OR; no prints on scrubs.
- Parking available at a daily cost.
- Candidates must comply with professional appearance policy and sign job description prior to start.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules required before badge issuance.
- Various facility-specific documents and attestations must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including coronavirus protocol attestation and vaccine declination/waiver forms if applicable.
