Registered Nurse – GI Lab

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Requires 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome.
  • Position involves active physical demands including ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine.
  • Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather are required.
  • Must be able to:
    • Work full contract term at assigned location
    • Work the majority of assigned shift hours
    • Take call
    • Work assigned weekends
    • Work at least 50% of holidays during the contract

Schedule

  • Day shift, 4 days per week
  • 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
  • Minimum of 1 year of GI Lab nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Documentation & Compliance

  • Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.
  • Two professional references within the last 2 years required.
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including:
    • Access and Confidentiality Agreement
    • New Hire Packet
    • Certification of Employment Eligibility (I-9/E-Verify)
    • TB Survey and INH Recommendation if applicable
    • Flu Medical or Religious Exemption forms if applicable
  • Photo for badge required for new candidates only (head and shoulders, neutral background, no filters).

Physical & Work Environment

  • Active role requiring physical stamina and ability to lift/move objects over 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to contagious diseases is routine.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 healthcare environment with rotating shifts and holiday coverage.

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
  • Must be able to work assigned call, weekends, and holidays as part of the contract.
