Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - NICU/Pediatrics

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (various days of the week)
• Weekend Requirement: Yes, based on unit needs
• On-call: No
• Charting System: Epic
• Uniform: Gray top / black bottoms
• Time Off Restrictions:

  • No time off allowed during these periods:

    • December 21, 2025 – January 3, 2026
    • March 14 – March 21, 2026
    • May 8 – May 11, 2026
    • May 21 – May 27, 2026
  • Flexibility may be considered for harder-to-fill positions

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Colorado
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start and annually (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and titers required or documented immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or facility-specific exemption during flu season
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual updates as needed
• Color Blindness testing via Ishihara exam (online testing not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination proof or signed declination

Additional Requirements

• References: Two references from the last two years, including one from the past year, preferably from a Charge RN, Manager, or Supervisor
• Employment history verification for the last 3 years, with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Annual competency exams and mandatory training including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, OSHA, and core clinical competencies

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• Candidates must be able to meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements prior to start.
• Weekend shifts and night shifts are required as part of the schedule.
