Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Caseload: 20-30 cases per day per tech
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, work every other weekend
- On-Call Requirement: Yes
- Weekdays: On-call starts at 5:00 PM regardless of scheduled work or day off
- Weekends & Holidays: 24-hour on-call coverage when scheduled
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs; no floating to sister facilities
- Locals: Not accepted
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
Facility & Unit Information
- Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Trauma Level: Level II Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
- Beds: 615 staffed beds
- Procedure Rooms: 4 (3 with biplane imaging)
- Equipment: 3 Siemens and 1 GE imaging systems
- Procedures: Stroke intervention, neurointerventions, PE thrombectomy & thrombolysis, DVT interventions, pain management, oncology procedures (Y-90, MAAs, chemoembolizations), stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrogram, kyphoplasty, vascular and neurological studies, stroke thromectomy IR experience required
- Charting System: Cerner EMR (preferred)
- Scrub Color: Black or Navy
- Parking: Included
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Vascular Technologist experience
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
Required Compliance & Documentation
- Background Checks:
- Standard background check within 1 year including 7 years of residence/work/school history
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Foreign equivalency evaluation if education completed outside USA or Puerto Rico
- Fingerprinting:
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
- Education Verification: Required for all healthcare professionals
- Physical Exam: Within 6 months of start
- TB Testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray if prior positive PPD
- Immunizations:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal)
- Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination with mask-wearing; deadline applies for pre-start and working travelers
- COVID-19: Vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted
- Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed
Required Competencies & Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥80%) as applicable
- Color Blindness test (Relias online exam) prior to start
- Competency exams as applicable to profession (score ≥80%)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain nursing units (100% lethal arrhythmia score)
- Stroke education CEUs (8 total credits required from CEUs, NIH Stroke Certification, and/or mRS certification)
- ACLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)

- References: Two professional references from the past 2 years required
- Employment Application: Must be submitted and viewable by facility

- Photo for Badge: Clear, professional photo with solid background required prior to start
- Dress Code & Tobacco Policy: Must be acknowledged and followed
- Online Training Modules: Must register and complete required BayCare Online Learning Center modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)

Notes
- No guaranteed hours until after the first call off per pay period
- No pending license accepted
- No return-to-office restrictions in contract
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
