Physical Therapist - Outpatient

Location: Abilene, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM (varies as needed)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Description

• Focus on pelvic and perinatal health therapy and rehabilitation.
• Responsible for evaluating and treating patients within this specialty.
• Outpatient physical therapy setting.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas

Required Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA accepted (Instructor, Provider, or RQI).
• Other certifications as applicable based on specialty and facility requirements.
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Competency exams as required by profession.

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• Federal and state-level screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start.
• Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable).
• Texas-specific employability and employee misconduct registry checks within 30 days of start.
• Facility-specific acknowledgments and agreements (e.g., confidentiality, compliance, patient-centered pledge) must be reviewed and signed prior to start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Fit mask (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), updated annually.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.
• Required immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with religious or medical exemptions accepted.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility will conduct additional drug screening on arrival.

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within 3 years.
• Resume or employment application required.
• Annual skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
• Facility-specific orientation modules (~3-4 hours).
• Completion of facility-specific forms prior to start (e.g., traveler identification, background check authorization).
