Surgical Tech - OR Tech

Location: Burien, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced OR Tech for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role involves working in an operating room with a focus on orthopedic and podiatry cases, along with general surgery, gynecology, robotics, and spine procedures.

Work Schedule

• Variable day shifts, 8 hours per day (06:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
• Approximately 40 hours per week
• Call required about 1 shift per weekday and rotation for weekend call (usually one weekend per month)
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Clinical Environment

• Operating room with 6 active suites (out of 9 total), including specialty rooms for cystoscopy and robotics
• Average of 15 cases per day, may start with fewer and add cases
• EMR system: EPIC
• IV team and respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available until 11 PM
• No floating; floor-specific orientation up to 3 days depending on skill set
• Scrub color and supplies provided

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR Tech experience, specifically with orthopedic cases
• Active WA state license at time of application
• BLS certification required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• Robotics experience preferred or willingness to learn
• Positive attitude and team player mindset

Additional Information

• Charge nurse available; no charge when on call
• Surgeons on call at night
• Scrubbing not required for RNs in this role
• Preference for candidates with orthopedic OR experience and robotics exposure
