RNII MedSurg/Tele Float Pool
Overview
- Registered Nurse assignment in Phoenix, Arizona.
- 13-week contract.
- Float pool role supporting multiple medical-surgical, telemetry, neuro, and observation units.
- Typical ratios range from 1:3–6.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years or more of experience in Med/Surg/Tele.
- Level I trauma experience.
- Teaching hospital experience.
- BLS (AHA).
- ACLS (AHA).
- Cerner EMR experience.
- Must pass the basic dysrhythmia exam within 2 attempts before contract start.
- Must complete the Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab.
- Must be able to work 12-hour day or night shifts.
- Must be willing to float without refusal.
- Must have their own vehicle if traveling as part of a travel team.
- Must not be currently working another assignment/contract while working for Dignity AZ.
- Must have been gone from CommonSpirit for 12 months as perm staff to be considered for a travel assignment.
Preferred
- NIHSS.
- Level I trauma center experience.
- Teaching hospital experience.
Unit / Float Scope
- Med Surg Tele Float Cluster.
- Units include Tower 5–8, 5N, 6N, 7NNB, 6HLT, 7HLT.
- Float coverage may also include Neuro Rehab, Surgical Landing Zone, ED Holds, Zone 4, Westgate, and Laveen.
Schedule
- 36 hours per week.
- 4 weekend shifts per 4 weeks.
- Holidays required based on unit needs.
- Schedule is set 4 weeks in advance and may change up to 2 weeks in advance.
- No call.
Orientation
- Weekly orientations on Mondays except during holiday weeks.
- 2 orientation shifts total: 1 on the unit and 1 in ED Holds, with a third shift only if needed.
Other Notes
- Travelers may be expected to work with nursing students.
- Reports are completed at the bedside.
- A 2-person skin assessment is completed within the first 4 hours of the shift.
- No facial piercings and only natural hair colors.
