Cath Lab Tech Travel Opportunity - California (Santa Maria)

Job Details

Specialty: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Santa Maria, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8-hour shifts, typically 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Unit: Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology (IR)
Number of Suites/Labs: 3
Average Cases per Day: 8-12

Experience & Certification Requirements

Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Cath Lab Tech specialty
Certifications:
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH
- Fluoroscopy certification
- California State License
- RCIS or ARRT certification may be required depending on staffing needs
Preferred: Experience in Electrophysiology (EP) lab

Call & Weekend Requirements

Weekend Call: Required every other weekend (may vary), from Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM for techs
Call Response Time: 30 minutes
Call Team: One nurse and two techs
Holiday Call: Required if working holidays

Work Environment & Equipment

EMR System: Cerner - Xper
Equipment: Phillips telemetry, ventilators available
Floating: Required to float between IR, Cath Lab, and EP Lab
Orientation: Approximately one week, floor-specific
Scrub Color: Provided

Common Procedures

IR Procedures: Venous placement, port-a-cath, fistula, biliary tube, nephrostomy tube, IVC filter
Cath Lab Procedures: Left and right heart catheterizations, STEMIs, ICDs, pacemakers, carotid interventions, peripheral interventions
EP Lab Procedures: Ablations, device implants

Additional Information

Supervision: Charge nurse present; supervisor on call after hours
RT and Pharmacy: Available 24/7
Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not explicitly required

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with required certifications and a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience, who are comfortable with weekend and holiday call responsibilities and floating between related labs.
