Floor: Observation Unit
Trauma Level 2
Unit has 10 beds
Adult only at this time (>18yo)

Schedule

5 Days / 5 Nights
12-hour shifts
Weekly guaranteed hours: 72ppd, 0.9FTE
Must work weekends/holidays
Orientation is bi-weekly
No guarantee on block scheduling

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Michigan
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
Observation experience

Preferred Qualifications

BSN
Telemetry experience

Float Scope

May float to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho Units

Additional Notes

Call requirements: none mandated
Equipment: cardiac monitor
Patient ratios: approximately 1:5, no defined ratios
Common patient types include chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar issues, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma
