Facility & Unit Overview

• Level III Trauma Center with cases including Trauma Levels I, II, and III
• 198-bed hospital serving the Four Corners region (NM, AZ, CO, UT)
• Services: Medical, Surgical, Rehabilitation, Childbirth, Cancer, Nephrology, Pediatrics, Behavioral Health, Day Surgery, Imaging, and Lab Testing
• Surgical Inpatient Unit (3rd floor) with 24 beds
• Patient population: Adults aged 18-100+
• Patient ratio: Maximum 1:6 with frequent admits and discharges
• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
• Equipment: IV pumps, vital signs monitors

Position Details

• Role: RN / Charge Nurse
• Specialty: Orthopedic / Neurosurgery, with Medical / Nephrology as needed
• Shift: Days
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 hours
• Weekend hours: At least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Call requirements: None
• Float requirements: May float to Medical/Nephrology/Inpatient Rehab sister units, Cardiology (lower acuity patients), or Pediatrics (adult patients only)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including within the last year
• Experience in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery
• Experience working with adult patients in inpatient and rehabilitation settings
• BLS certification
• Experience with post-operative patient care including abdominal surgeries
• Management of NG tubes, chest tubes, Foley catheters, and TURPs
• Management of altered mental status and pain management

• No prior travel experience explicitly required
• Must be able to start within 10 business days of offer acceptance
• Team-oriented with adherence to all facility policies and guidelines
• Patient care manager oversees unit operations
