RN PACU

Overview

• Location: Williamantic, Connecticut
• Employment type: LongTerm
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: AM
• Unit: fast-paced Ambulatory Surgical department with recent large-volume, low-acuity expansion

Schedule

• Shifts may be 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on surgical schedule needs
• On-call: approximately one day every 11 days during the week and one weekend every 11 weeks, on a rotating basis

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• Experience in an Ambulatory Care setting
• Ambulatory Surgery experience
• Proficiency in Ambulatory Surgical setting
• Proficiency in Phase I/II Recovery setting
• Proficiency at IV starts
• Proficiency at recognizing aberrant cardiac rhythms
• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Scope

• Surgeries performed include Total Joint, Orthopedic Spine, Arthroscopic ACL/PCL Repair, fracture repair (hip, wrist, etc.), GYN hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, General Surgery, Robotic surgery (da Vinci, MAKO, Globus), Urology procedures (laser litho, TURBT, TURP), and Endoscopy
• Does not do Hearts, Heads, Pedi, OB, ENT, or Eyes
