Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin.
• Primary location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
• General Team assignment in the OR.
• 13-week contract.
• 40 guaranteed hours per week.
• Variable day shifts.
• Shift time listed: 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with 4 years of experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• One completed travel assignment.
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• CST or NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Associate degree or certificate.
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients.
• Experience with the da Vinci surgical robot.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, and strong GI, with skill in as many of these as possible.
• Experience in a large volume hospital.
• Preferably experience in a trauma 2 facility.
• Flexible, strong work ethic, willing to do downtime tasks, and able to help train new hires.
• Resilient, manages change well, and social.

Float / Coverage

• May be required to float to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, or Stanley.

Call / Weekend / Holiday

• 6-8 nights of weeknight call during the 13-week contract.
• 1-2 weekend call shifts during the 13-week contract.
• 30-minute response time for call.
• Weekend coverage is for call only.
• Holiday rotation required.

Additional Notes

• 21 ORs, including all specialties.
• Average 40-60 cases per day.
• Must be willing to wear a mask at all times during flu season if declining flu and COVID vaccination.
• Eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours.
• Travelers may be put on call during low census hours.
