Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)


Job Description

  • Provide imaging support in the Operating Room (OR) for vascular interventional radiology procedures.
  • Work schedule includes 10-hour days from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Rotating on-call every 4th week.
  • Must be willing to work within a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.

Certifications & Compliance

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other specialty certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter).
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and other standard screenings.
  • Drug testing within 2 months of start, including 10-panel screen with marijuana and fentanyl.
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer (positive required or follow-up testing)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination (no exemptions accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, attesting ability to meet physical demands.
  • Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged.
  • Compliance with facility-specific forms and screenings prior to start.
  • May require fingerprinting and child abuse registry checks if assigned to behavioral health or specific units.
  • Radiation badge must be supplied by the facility for new candidates.
