Job Opportunity: Radiation Therapist

Location: Eureka, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)


Job Summary

Seeking a Radiation Therapist with experience in Radiology/Cardiology specialties. This is an acute care hospital setting with 150 staffed beds. The role requires flexibility to float between similar units as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in California
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) for Therapy (ARRT T) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
    • COVID vaccine or declination.
  • Respirator fit testing required for travel candidates.
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.

Training and Competency

  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules annually, including:
    • Regulatory requirements.
    • Specialty-specific modules for Radiology/Radiation Therapy.
    • Facility-specific orientation and Epic training modules.
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable.
  • Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis.

Additional Information

  • Free parking on the first day; assigned parking provided during orientation.
  • Charting system used: Epic.
  • Guaranteed hours with the possibility of one call-off per two-week pay period.
  • Must include Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of submission.
  • Float policy acknowledgment required.
