Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Description
- Caring for Med/Surg patients in a Stepdown unit (Progressive Care Unit).
- Must have experience with PCU, Acute Care, Telemetry, and Med Surg.
- Must have 2 years of work experience at a Level One Trauma facility.
- Every other weekend shift required.
- Float requirement to other universal/progressive areas within the healthcare system.
- Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.
- No block scheduling; full weeks off requests between May and August will not be approved.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Certification
- Experience in Med Surg nursing
- Experience in Telemetry nursing
Additional Information
- Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
- No local travelers within 100 miles accepted.
- Strict scheduling policies apply, especially regarding time off between May and August.
- All certifications and competencies must be current and maintained throughout the contract.
- Pass/Fail EKG exam is critical; only two attempts allowed before cancellation.
- Background checks and health documents must be updated annually or as required.
This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with PCU/Stepdown and trauma experience seeking a travel contract in Kentucky.
