Location: Portland, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 7:15)

Job Description
- Provide respiratory therapy services in an in-patient acute hospital setting.
- Work primarily in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Unit accepts first-time travel therapists.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health records preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Oregon.
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience, with experience within the last year.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA provider only).
- Preferred certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA provider only
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA provider only
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/AAP only
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day.
- Must have completed two (2) manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months.
- Education verification and work history verification required.
- Background checks including criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, and drug testing (10-panel with methamphetamines) must be completed prior to start.
- Primary source verification of state respiratory therapy license within 60 days prior to start.
- Competency exam with a required score of 85% or higher.
- Completion of facility-specific compliance and professional appearance policies prior to start.
Experience & Skills
- PICU and NICU respiratory therapy experience required.
- EPIC experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Unit accepts first-time travelers; prior travel experience is not required.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit mask test required within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent).
- Immunizations or documented immunity required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (full vaccine series or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or signed declination)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, TSPOT, or QGOLD) within 12 months or documented positive TB with clear chest x-ray and annual questionnaire.
- Annual flu vaccination or signed declination.
- Drug screen must be laboratory-based, negative 10-panel including methamphetamines, completed within 3 months prior to start.
Additional Requirements
- Must complete facility-required online training modules prior to start (e.g., privacy, harassment prevention).
- For RRTs, additional modules and orientation materials will be provided.
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date.
- Personal statement required if any conviction appears on background check.
- Radiation badge required only if applicable to specific roles (not typical for this position).

- Acute care hospital respiratory therapy department.
- Full spectrum of respiratory care services.
- Night shift schedule with no call.
