Required Experience and Qualifications

• Sterile Processing Technician with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Sterile Processing Technician experience within the last year
• Minimum of 2 years of travel experience
• Experienced traveler background

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (as applicable)
• E-Verify attestation required
• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Education verification required (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
• State-specific searches including Washington State Patrol (WSP/WATCH) within 90 days of start
• OBRA Registry search required for CNAs working at Skilled Nursing Facilities in Washington
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable with attestation)
• Drug screen attestation required if instant drug screen used
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Fit mask test required annually (travel only)
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (declination accepted)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow masking policies

References and Employment History

• Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
• Work history verification may be required if reference requirements are not met

Competencies

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exams required as applicable by specialty
• Color blindness testing if specifically requested by the unit or PM team
• Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment exam or valid EFM certification required for Labor & Delivery RNs

Additional Notes

• Float policy acknowledgement required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via LMS (Workramp)
• Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background)
• Epic training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation

This position is ideal for experienced sterile processing technicians with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week contract in a Level III Trauma Center environment with evening shifts and occasional weekend work.
