Job Description

• Float Pool / DOU Step Down Float role
• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Total hours per week: 36

Required Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current California RN license (in hand)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified
• NIH Stroke Certification (must be within 1 year of start date)
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, EFM, STABLE) but primary requirements are BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 5 years of stepdown nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor (Blue card only; Red card not accepted)
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Fire Card issued by an LAFD-approved instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start (Blue card only; Red card not accepted)
• Assault Response Competency (ARC) training required within 30 days of start (live 4-hour training)
• De-escalation modules attestation required
• Arbitration agreement, voluntary meal waiver, and access request forms required
• Passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of orientation checklists within first 30 days of assignment (general, unit-specific competency, CORE competency, unit tour)
• Job description acknowledgment via DocuSign
