Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Shift
- Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
- Must be willing to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Job Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5
- Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Document care using the Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Requirements & Policies
- Must review and sign dress code and hand hygiene policy
- Must complete Confidential Fraud Waste Abuse and Compliance Reporting training and form
- Must complete Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
- NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter)
- Background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitored monthly
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually

- Facility may allow pending background check results if FBI/BCI fingerprints are on file, with written approval
- Fingerprinting results can take 1-2 weeks; delays possible if background hits occur
- Candidates with a break in service of 90+ days must renew fingerprinting if older than 1 year
- Candidates must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
