Position Details

Job Description
- Candidate will be reviewed by clinical staff for clinical fit before manager interview and final decision.
- Must have previous Level III or greater NICU experience.
- Preferred experience with all modes of ventilation: HFCC, CPAP, and vents.
- May care for COVID-19 patients.
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum 2 years of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) nursing experience, with NICU experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience with HFCC, CPAP, and ventilator modes of ventilation.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
- Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year prior to start; must be finalized before starting.
- PA Child Abuse (Childline) Search required 3 business days prior to start; renewed every 5 years.
- PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment. Fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
- Employment application and 2 professional references within 3 years required.
- Annual skills checklist required.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC provider card required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke, etc.) as applicable per unit/job description.
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required within 48 hours of signed contract (except OR and Home Health).
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 72 hours of contract signing (except OR and Home Health).
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
- Fit mask test required 3 business days prior to start for patient-facing candidates; PAPR training if fit test failed.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted. For positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Vaccination or positive titer required for:
- Rubeola (Measles) - 2 doses or positive titer
- Mumps - 2 doses or positive titer
- Rubella - 2 doses or positive titer
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) or declination form
- Varicella - 2 doses or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season. Declinations not accepted.
- COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted.
- Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen required within 1 year of start (for agency only).
- Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year of start; renew annually.
Facility Specific Documents
- Passport-style photo for badge required (clear, light background, no face coverings except religious headwear).

Cons
Sometimes the schedule can be confusing with rotating shifts and call schedules that don’t align well with your scheduled shifts. But again if there is a major concern they’ll try and work with you on it!
