Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Hours: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), total 36 hours per week
Schedule: Block weekends required
Float: No floating between units
On-call: Not required
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Special Requirements: Weekend RN must have experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, XI/DV5 Robot, and Trauma
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
Uniform: Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel; print tops not allowed except in specific units

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, and Trauma
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Health and Safety Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates, updated annually
Immunizations and screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer or signed declination
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer or signed declination
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to infection prevention measures
Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Background and Compliance

Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
Education verification required for nursing degree (international education requires diploma/transcript)
NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
State-specific searches and attestations as applicable (e.g., Washington multi-state license attestation if applicable)
References and work history verification as required

Additional Requirements

Passport-style photo for badge (neutral background, JPEG format) required prior to start
Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
Float policy acknowledgment: Candidate may be required to float to another facility within reasonable distance
Epic training modules may be required depending on facility assignment

Notes

Weekend block schedule with 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
No 48-hour shifts approved
Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots
