Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 70 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks)
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, 1 day per week plus every 4th/5th weekend (Friday 6:00 PM to Monday 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: On-call and approximately 1 Saturday per month as part of the scheduled shifts
- Floating: May float within scope to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) units
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Locals: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
- Fit mask test (respirator clearance) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted
- Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification required for all candidates; international education requires diploma/transcript
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
- Employment history verification required if exceptions to reference requirements are requested
- Various state-specific background checks and attestations as applicable
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist required annually for applicable units
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other nearby facilities
Notes
- Time off requests approved individually; only one time off request allowed per 13-week assignment
- Candidates currently working at another facility with less than 30-day gap may have some background and drug screen requirements waived if still valid
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- First-time travelers accepted
