Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Memphis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Work primarily in Labor and Delivery with responsibilities also including Postpartum and Med/Surg units.
• Must be willing to float between Labor & Delivery, Nursery, Mother/Baby care, and Med/Surg as needed.
• Orientation to Med/Surg provided; prior Med/Surg experience not required.
• Expected to spend at least half of the time working on Med/Surg when OB census is low.
• Facility is a 25-bed critical access hospital.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (36 hours/week)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Additional Requirements

• Must provide:

  • Valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Proof of work eligibility (I-9 or E-Verify)
  • Background checks including 7-year work/living history, sex offender search, and quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Health clearance with physical exam signed by MD, PA, or NP
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year, with TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Flu vaccination or approved declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • Drug screening (11-panel) within 30 days of start, with MRO process
• Must complete competency exam annually in specialty area.
• Must submit 2 professional references (one within last 12 months) and performance evaluation if applicable.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.
• Work history verification of 2 years relevant experience within last 3 years.

• Facility offers shared housing option with a rate adjustment.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
• First-time travelers are welcome; local candidates accepted at the same rate.

This position is ideal for a Labor and Delivery RN comfortable with flexibility to support multiple units in a small hospital setting, working night shifts on a travel contract basis.
