Occupational Therapist - Home Health (Travel/Contract)
Location: San Diego, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Territory covers multiple San Diego areas including Chula Vista, Clairmont, College Grove, Coronado, East San Diego, and others.
- Home Health setting with a Monday to Friday schedule plus one weekend day on call.
- Hours based on completed visits: 25 visits equal 40 hours per week. Hours guaranteed if 25 or more visits are completed.
- Mileage reimbursement follows IRS standard.
- COVID vaccination or approved exemption required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Occupational Therapy license preferred; candidates with a pending CA license who have applied may be considered.
- Home Health experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Oasis experience required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA provider or instructor).
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM certifications as applicable (verify based on assignment).
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start.
- Required immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within the past 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific protocols if previously positive).
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity documentation for candidates born in 1957 or later.
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination accepted if within 1 year).
- Varicella immunity documentation (declinations not accepted).
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination accepted.
- COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
- Two professional references required.
Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Valid passport copy required before start.
- I9 attestation and employment application required for clearance.
- Background checks including 7-year location history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually.
- Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, front facing, plain background).
- Personal or auto insurance and auto registration required and must be kept current during assignment.
- Completion and acknowledgment of training content and hand hygiene policies prior to start.
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable, with minimum passing scores.
- Primary source verification of state license required.
Schedule & Shift
- Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours).
- One weekend day on call.
