Location: San Ramon, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide Occupational Therapy services in home health settings across multiple areas including Fremont, Castro Valley, Hayward, Oakland, Berkeley, and surrounding cities.
- Work 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM), 5 days per week.
- Expected to see 5-6 patients per day with a standard productivity target of 27 points daily.
- Guaranteed 36 hours weekly, though guaranteed hours do not apply during the first 2 weeks (ramp-up, holidays, time off).
- Weekend patient visits are optional to meet productivity goals.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Own transportation is required; travel radius may occasionally exceed 50 miles.
- Timely communication and documentation are mandatory; documentation tools will be provided and must be returned.
- Scrub color is flexible (any color allowed).
- Free parking available.
- Mileage reimbursement follows IRS standard rates.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in California.
- Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in a Home Health setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Emergency Contact Form and other facility-specific onboarding documents must be completed prior to start.
- Background checks including 7-year work/living history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions must be completed and updated annually.
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming clearance to work without restrictions.
- Immunizations and/or titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or annual declination)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titers within specified timeframes; boosters required if negative)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if negative)
- Negative TB test (PPD, T-spot, or Q-Gold) within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required year-round.
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation or facility-specific declination form required; vaccination strongly preferred but declination accepted for religious/medical reasons.
- 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
- Auto insurance and vehicle registration must be current and maintained throughout the assignment.
Experience & References
- First-time travel therapists are not accepted.
- Prior travel experience is required.
- Two professional references required for travel or allied health roles, within 3 years of start date.
- One year of employment verification related to the OT profession required.
Notes
- The system attempts to group patient visits geographically to minimize driving time.
- Locals are accepted for this travel contract.
