Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Hallock, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Rotating Day/Night, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Day: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Night: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
• Floating: May be required to float between like units upon request
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated; must work the schedule the center needs
• Locals Accepted: Yes
• Pending License Accepted: Yes
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: RTO only approved at time of submission; holiday time off cannot be guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Minnesota (pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form (prior to start)
• Background Checks (within 1 year):

  • SS Trace and County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide and Sex Offender searches
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (annual)
• Certifications verification (BLS, ACLS, PALS if applicable)
• State License verification (primary source online)
• Competency Exams: Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (with specific protocols for past positives)
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (titer, vaccine, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug Screening: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season: Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care

Additional Notes

• First-time travel nurses are accepted for this position.
• Must be able to work the schedule as required by the center without block scheduling flexibility.
• Floating between similar units may be requested.
